SrilaŚrī Swami Satchidananda Swarna Jayanti (50th Guru Puja)
SrilaŚrī Swami Satchidananda attained samadhi on November 1950 at Vallimalai Parvatharajan Hills. Since then regular aradhana is being done to His samadhi by the Sabha with contributions from devotees far and near. The Sabha, founded in 1953 to propagate Thiruppugazh all over the country and beyond the shores of India in memory of our patron Saint SrilaŚrī Vallimalai Satchidhananda by his disciples, had been rendering commendable service during the past half century. The Sabha has published and distributed thousands of copies of Thiruppugazh Parayana Thavaneri Thirumurai. These are culled from the thousands of stanzas of Arunagirinathar's Thiruppugazh as ordained by the Guru, rendered in melody and rhythm, and distributed all over India and abroad with the view that devotee acquire the style and content. The Sabha has been organising parayanams at many centres, and celebrating Guru Puja Velmaral Akanda Parayanam, and monthly moolam puja at Vallimalai Parvatharajan Hills, Tiruttani Thiruppugagh Padi Vizhā, where our Sabha performs bhajans in praise of Murugan in association with other sabhas. All the items of expenditure are being met by the Sabha from contributions from devotees in India and abroad, and managed by the Sabha through its elected office bearers all these years. In December 2000 we celebrated Swami Satchidananda's Golden Jubilee in a fitting manner in Vallimalai Hills. Parayanams were conducted by many groups on the occasion to make it a grand success. Annadannam and poor feeding crowned the celebrations. The Sabha has published a handsome a "Swarna Jayanthi" souvenir carrying articles by people in various walks of life who had the fortune of personal experience with Swamiji, articles on Śrī Arunagirinathar; about the life & times of both Arunagirinathar and Swami Satchidananda, rare archival photos and many such related subjects.
